Maciej Kuźmiński’s latest duo, “event horizon”, received a production award from Codarts Rotterdam in the RIDCC competition.

Maciej Kuźmiński is the first Polish choreographer who qualified for the program of the prestigious Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC). From 417 submissions from 62 countries, 16 best duos were selected, which on June 24-26 were presented in Rotterdam and in online streaming. The main prize of the XL Production Award was awarded to the Italian choreographer Erika Silgoner. Maciej Kuźmiński was awarded one of the eight production awards granted by the partners of the competition. The Partner Award granted to Maciej Kuźmiński by the prestigious Codarts Rotterdam university is a production award, thanks to which the choreographer will be able to prepare his next performance at Codarts. 

RIDCC is currently one of the leading choreography competitions in the world, offering 11 awards, including production awards for Nederlands Dans Theater, Club Guy and Roni and Dutch National Ballet, and the XL prize of 100.000 Euro for production for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam.

 

Maciej Kuźmiński, together with the dancers – Monika Witkowska and Omar Karabulut, are the first Polish artists in the history of the RIDCC qualified for this competition.
