THEATER OSNABRÜCK | MACIEJ KUŹMIŃSKI
beginningend by Maciej Kuźmiński draws a contemporary link to the works of the Polish pioneer of concrete poetry Stanisław Dróżdż (1939-2009). Dróżdż deconstructs sentences and words, removes them from their origin and thus creates new contexts in terms of content and visuals. Kuźmiński takes this as a source of inspiration and combines it with the element of the body. Language helps to identify who we are, to understand the world, but also to deconstruct it. The body as a means of communication creates community and enables one to differentiate oneself. For Kuźmiński, this balance between disruption and community, between individual and society, is closely linked to his home country of Poland.
It is more about the general, fundamental tension between the individual and the society [...] and yet it is something unique, never seen, opening up spaces for interpretation.
Bold and powerful [...] language-poetry translated into dance movements.
We would watch this performance a second time, in order to experience it again in more detail.
