FABULA RASA

Polish Dance Theatre | Maciej Kuźmiński

Poison (chor. Marta Ziółek), Fabula Rasa (chor. Maciej Kuźmiński) and No more tears (directed by Iwo Vedral, chor. Krystyna "Lama" Szydłowska) have become the subject of analysis in three short behind the scenes documentaries. On one hand, the filmmakers reveal to the audience the secrets of the workshop and work on the show, on the other - they talk about the emotions associated with the subject of each title. The dancers integrate the dynamics and spirit of the performance into the elements related to the presentation of theatrical practice. Thanks to such composition of films, the viewer, without knowing the details of the plot, receives interpretive support for the subsequent individual reception of the dance piece.

The on-line premiere and screening of the film takes place on Polish Dance Theatre official Facebook site.

This spectacle is not to be watched. This spectacle is to be discovered.
What is there to be discovered (among other things), is that
every spectacle is always just a spectacle.
A performance description: something that is
a performance in which all gestures are only gestures.
And they are never what they are trying to show to a smaller or larger degree.

This performance is a description of the world-which-arose,
that is, the world-which-did not arise,
for the creation of the world is the eternal creation of the world.

I become in contact with You. Becoming I, I say You. Every real life is a meeting.
This performance is a meeting.

It's been a long time since I have come across such an excellent choreography: from developed coherent choreographic drawings to the balanced dynamics of the dancers' movement. (…) This performance is, above all, an excellent selection of soloists and ballet, as well as the interplay of music and dance, so that no words or additional comments are needed.
